Where are my job? - Part 2
July 4, 2009 11:24 pm On the jobBy now each one of you should have gotten several job offers through LingoZ. This is what I can see in my stats and the email lists. Still I receive letters by team members that say that they haven’t gotten any job offers by emails. First of all I encourage everyone in this situation to shortly inform me and I will see if there are any problems with the profile of the specific translator.
In general I would advise you to:
• Check your Spam/Junk folders
• Please add noreply@lingoz.com to your “Approved Sender List”. (How to do…)
With best regards,
Ursula

Hi,
I got some jobs, but the time to login and accept they were already taken. About 2 Minutes afterwards. Are you guys refreshing the member area every minute until a new job arrives?
Maybe it would be possible to reserve a job to 1 translator for at least 5 minutes or so…

I’m a newcomer and I haven’t got any job so far. Could you please check whether I’m missing anything or there’s no job for me? Thanks.
July 5th, 2009 at 7:25 am
No, Ursula, I haven`t received any job offers so far. No, my junk box is clear. I always check it just in case.

Same here. No jobs so far. Just two, before the bug. One of them was cancelled and the other expired within a minute!
My junk box is clear. I also check it daily, just in case.
Could you please check if there’s something wrong with my profile?
Thank you, Ursula.

Hi Ursula,
I have received several job offers, but all except one have arrived in the early hours of the morning. I suppose that if anyone sees an offer at that time it is because he/she is toiling away at some urgent job trying to meet a deadline and most likely unwilling or unable to take the offer. Yes, freelance translators have to sleep too.
Clearly there is still something wrong with the time zoning.
And the only one that has arrived at a normal hour was taken in less than three minutes, before I could even figure out how to accept the job.
I would appreciate some more directions about exactly what to do to accept a job.
Best regards.

Hi Ursula,
I had the same problems Jose just mentioned. Maybe there is a problem with time zones..

Hi Ursula,
I received two jobs so far, projects 84 and 206. I couldn´t take the first one as I was trying to understand how it all worked and today’s, well, too early and I wasn´t working anyway.
Perhaps there is something wrong in my profile too. Or were there just two projects for English into Spanish?
Thanks!
Regards,
Haydee

I haven`t received any job offers so far and my junk box is clear.
It would be great to have some information about the amount of clients´demands per language combination for instance during the last two weeks. If you have drawn some stats about this new service, it would be great to get some news about its progress to evaluate work load in the mid term.

Dear Ursula,
I am also one of the translators who haven´t got any job offer yet. I check my Spam folder too. Thank you so much for the effort in checking that all of us get translations. Regards,

Hello Ursula,
I would just like to comment that I have just received a job offer, but I received the email saying that it had already been taken five minutes before the offer itself arrived!
Best regards.

I received several job offers, but I was not able to accept any because they were either canceled or taken by the time I logged in, and most of them arrived in the early hours of the morning. Could you check if there is still something wrong with the time zoning?
I have not received any more emails for jobs in more than a week.
Could you please check if there is something wrong with my profile as well please?
Thanks!

Hi Ursula, I’ve checked my junk email and there’s nothing there but, just in case, I’ve added the email address to my safe senders list. Still no jobs though.
Thanks

Hi, Ursula.
I have actually been receiving LingoZ job alerts but, apart from those that have already been taken, about which I get a following email, I have checked the projects to which I have not been advised of having been taken by another translator, and they all appear as expired. 5 minutes ago I have checked the job number 243, it appeared on the list as “Expired” but I have just received the message saying it had been assigned to another colleague…
Does it appear as expired while another translator is taking it on?

Hi All,
I wish to thank everybody for being so open. I’m one of the people Ursula affectionately calls ‘the founding members’.I thought had no job notifications until Ursula’s explanations prompted me to visit my Spam folder early today. And I found out that the ONLY 2 job notifications I ever had were diverted to that particular folder. My browser is Firefox and the tabs are quite different from what she just described to remedy the situation. Can somebody, please, help me out?
Best regards.

The same here…Not even one offer yet…and nothing in the spam folder…Please, tell us if everything is OK with us.
Cheers

Hi again, Ursula.
I have just checked my LingoZ profile and wanted to add that I have not received any alert for the last 2 projects (after Job Nr. 243)…
You’re surely going to be busy during the weekend!
Have a good one, anyway!

Hi, Ursula.
I haven’t received any job offers so far. I always check my spam/junk folder just in case and I can guarantee job offers do not go there. I will add the email address you suggest to my address book, let’s see what happens but I do not think the problem is there.
Thank you for your great support!
Have a nice weekend.

Hi Ursula,
Please add me to your list of translators who haven’t received any jobs yet. I always check my spam folder ‘just in case’ and have added your e-mail address to my address list.
Looking forward to being an active member of your site!

Dear Ursula,
I haven´t received any job notifications and my spam folder in gmail is empty. I´ve added the email address to the contact list just in case.(I have Mozilla Firefox, same case as Corentin Tefack). I have to say that in my profile the mother tongue was not selected. I don´t know how this happened. But, anyway, I selected it again on July 4, and I´m still in the “no job offers” list.
Kind Regards,
Laura

I’ve just recieved notification for the job ID 278. Only 12 words. When I signed in, to accept it, I saw that it wasn’t spanish, as the mail claimed.. I’m confused…
Is the system working Ok?
Kind Regards,
Denise
