Submission of Translation as File

Babylon Human Translation, On the job 2 Comments

Dear all,

one function of our system needs clarification: Uploading your translation as a file.

The main point is that uploading the file still doesn’t submit the translation!

You still have to click the “Submit Translation” button to complete your translation.

Korean Translator Needed

Online Translation No Comments

Hi all,

we still don’t offer Korean as a regular service on BHT, but I got a job request for an English to Korean translation. Team members that work with this language pair, please contact me (ursula [at] babylon.com).

Thanks,
Ursula

Skype Contact

Online Translation, User/Translator Profile 2 Comments

Hi all,

it is very helpful to have your Skype Username available in cases I need to discuss issues on a personal level.

If time allows, please go to your Translator Skills Page on BHT and enter your Skype username right at the top of the “About Me - Additional Info” text box.

And as always - don’t forget to click “Update Profile”.

Note: Skype is the only messenger I am using.

Thanks for your attention and co-operation,
Ursula

Changing the Email Address of Your BHT Account

Babylon Human Translation, User/Translator Profile No Comments

Dear all,

Please note that changing your email address of your BHT account can not be done by you on your profile pages.
It can be done only my system. Sent me a short email (ursula [at] babylon.com) clearly stating your current email address and the new address you would like to use.

Note we do not support secondary email addresses. It is one email per account.

Have a nice day,
Ursula

Mid-December Pay Round

On the job, Online Translation No Comments

Dear all,

Large parts of Babylon, including the accounting department, will be on vacation between 11-19th of December.

Therefor we will have the Mid-December (usually scheduled for 15th of December) already on 10, December 2009. All invoices and withdrawal requests reaching us later will enter the End-December round.

Don’t forget: We need both an invoice by email (to: ursula@babylon.com) and a withdrawal request through the website.

Regards - Ursula

Closing Translator Accounts

System Improvements 6 Comments

Hi all,

I will close translator accounts with email addresses that are reported as undeliverable.
These entries in the database are only a burden to the system and delay sending the job notifications to those colleagues who are waiting for a job.

Translators with closed accounts will not be able to log in to their account. If you have reasons to believe that I closed you account on wrong reasons mistake - send me an email (ursula[at]babylon.com]

Ursula

Translator of the Week

Translator of the Week 1 Comment

Hi all,

my second computer is still busy with sending the emails, crashing the computer every 15 minutes.
So I would like to use this opportunity to start a new category:
Translator of the Week.

There are always great translations done by you, and there are more colleagues I actually can mention, but once a week I would like to say a personal thanks to one of you. So this one goes to:

Vrinda, K. from Mumbai
Vrinda did an outstanding translation of poems of Eduard Mörike (1804 – 1875) from German to English!
I closely monitored her work on this challenging task - and she translated the eight poems with such charm! Well done.

With whom do I have the honor?

You all know my name, right?
Ursula Ron. I am even ready to give you more: Ursula Klothilde Ariella Ron Wertjanz ;-)

So, all of you, that never ever entered their names in their profiles, please do it now!
I don’t like to “speak” to an email address.

Regards,
U.K.A.R.W.
