Ursula, thank you for the chance and all the information.
Two small comments:
1) I saw the accent is missing when the word PORTUGUÊS is written on the site.
2) I noticed that only the flag of Portugal appears besides our language. If your intention is to to work in the Brazilian market too, I think it would be good to put it there as soon as possible.
I apologize if this is not the right place to add these suggestions.
Thanks.
I updated my information with no problem. Just change, delete or add the relevant information and click on “save”. Your new information should be displayed instantly.
I have never translated anything for Babylon but have registered to be a part of your translation team. I received a mail today asking me to check the time zone in my profile and to change it according to the country I live in. I tried changing it several times today but the system keeps changing it to what was selected previously in spite of pressing “update profile” after the selection.
Please let me know what should be done.
I was reading the different posts, which were very interesting by the way, and then I checked the project 41 that I translated. It stated word count:287 but after analyzing it in Trados I got 357.
Some suggestions:
1.- It would be great to give the chance to clients to deliver their files in Word and be able to deliver the transaltion in Word too. Manly to respect formats (placeables).
2.- Clients might have some comments or remarks to make about what they expect. It would be useful to include a box for them to leave their comments.
3.- Some clients have TMs (translation memories for CAT tools) that can be very useful in large project to keep consistency. I think a box should be available in case they want to include a TM.
I think that’s all, I’m very happy to be part of this team.
Ursula:
The time zone updates are still not working. In fact no changes to the “my profile” page hold when pressing the “update profile” button. When do you expect to have this glitch fixed?
I would like to suggest a future improvement:
- An option to set the “time out limit” of a logon session.
What happens is that when we let the site opened, in order to monitore jobs, and go lead with other tasks, the systems automatically do a logoff after a certain time, so we need constantly do re-login’s.
I would like make a suggestion:
The Portuguese page (with the Portuguese flag) is written mostly in Brazilian. I think that the Portuguese page should be written in Portuguese since lots of words are really different.
I’ve received a job notification. After logging in, I click on the ‘accept project’ button and it takes me to a ’server error’ page. The system doesn’t let me accept it. Any help?
Hello everybody For me the same thing as Melina’s. I have never received a job offered till the moment. E-mail me to tell me if there is something wrong.
Dear Ursula,
just a suggestion from me: I have received more than one job offer, anyway, while I try to log in…. the offer has been taken by another translator (I was only able to accept one small job). How many translators are advised about job offers? Could you eventually stick the offer on a translator for 10 minutes at least?
This would give all translators the opportunity to get job offers without panicking!!!
Please let me know
Valentina
Hi everybody!
I recently had a login problem. I contacted Ursula asking for help. I sincerely want to thank her, publicly, for her celerity in answering my calling for help. She spent a couple of hours with me, and finally we did solve the problem. It is not often that an open, friendly person crosses your path. Thank you, Ursula, I felt reassured, I felt my working with you is OK. There will always be angry people, the important thing is to work as a team and you proved you set this as a goal and act as such. Thanks again.
Dear Ursula,
I haven’t received any job notifications since August 25. My profile seems to be right.
Could you please check what is going on?
Thank you so much.
Best regards.

Ursula:
Thank you very much for the information and the big opportunity to be a part of your translation team.
I went to “my profile” and checked “my skills” area. The info entered there is not mine, it belongs to someone else. How can I change it?
Thanks
Maria

Dear Ursula,
Yesterday I requested a withdrawal and on “My transactions” the amount immediately appeared as pending. Could you please tell me how long it takes?
Thanks for your feedback.
